‘What’s happening?!’ Rose shouted running into the console room. The Doctor was running around the controls frantically to regain control.
‘I don’t know! We hit some sort of dimensional disturbance. I think we hit something in the same space time field! Hang on! I’m going to try an emergency landing!’
Rose quickly grasped the console and held in for dear life as she found herself doing on more than one occasion.
‘Here we go!’ The Doctor hit the controls. The TARDIS shook and spun and landed with a hard thud sending the Doctor and Rose to the floor.
‘Rose! Are you alright?’
‘Yeah.’ She replied pulling herself up to a sitting position. 'Ya know, you’d think after nine hundred years you’d get the hang of flying this thing.’
‘I can fly the TARDIS fine. There was an external influence that caused this.’ He got up and helped Rose to her feet.
‘We seem to hit a lot of external influences lately. So where are we?’
The Doctor moved around to the other side of the console and turned on the view screen. His eyes went wide. ‘Oh no.’
Rose moved next to him. ‘What is it?’ She looked at the viewer and saw eight men, looking at the TARDIS. ‘Do you know em?’
‘Yeah…They’re me. All eight of me.’
Rose just looked at him. ‘What are you talkin about?’ At this point with everything she’s seen, he could be serious.
‘I am a Time Lord. I have two hearts. It gives me the ability to regenerate. My body changes each time I do it. I was each one of those men out there. You see that little one with the gray hair? That was the first model.’
‘You were-you mean they are all Doctors? All… you?’
‘Yup’ He exhaled.
‘Who is that one in the techno-color dream coat? That wasn’t-’
‘Yes it was. It was one of my more… rebellious regenerations.’
She looked at the lot of them for a moment taking it all in. ‘Well, I’ll say one thing, at least your fashion sense improved.’
‘Indeed it has.’ He said with a broad grin.
So what happens now? Family reunion?’
‘Sort of. You go out and introduce yourself. I have to find out what happened and find a solution before they do?’
‘What?’
‘I’m the latest model. I have to prepare and wow them. Just to let them know that we get better with age.’
‘Right.’ She smirked. Well, open the doors and I’ll let them know to expect the lord of the manor.’ She smiled.
‘You know you’re really cute when you’re sarcastic.’ He smiled back.
‘Really?’
‘No. Now off you go.’ He opened the doors.
‘You are so funny when you crack on me.’
‘Really?’
‘No.’ She joked back and exited the TARDIS.
The Doctor checked the controls, took readings analyzed and after what seemed an eternity…’Fantastic!’
Rose had no sooner stepped out of the TARDIS when the Doctor appeared and went right into his speech. ‘Ah, good.’ He started and began to pace back and forth. ‘Now at first I thought someone brought us here but there were too many variables…’
Rose looked at the other Doctors reactions to see how hers was doing but something was not quite right. ‘Um Doctor.’
‘…Just a minute Rose.’ He continued to pace oblivious his other selves as he was trying to show off. ‘So, I looked at the readings just before we arrived. I then thought it was some sort of temporal burp causing the TARDIS to go sideways in time…’
‘Doctor.’
‘Not yet.’ He whispered quickly. ‘But then I saw eight other signatures identical to my TARDIS, and came to the conclusion that we all have traveled here at different times but the same space causing a temporal hiccup. So if we all get back in our TARDIS’ I can transmit proper coordinates, and as long as we all take off in the reverse order we came we should be able to get back tour proper times. It’ll be a bit bumpy but it’ll work. Fantastic.’ He smiled and turned to Rose.’
‘Doctor!’ She said sternly.
He turned to her. ‘What? Can’t you see I’m trying to impress them?’
‘You’re doing something but I don’t know what.’
‘What?’
She tilted her head in the direction of the other Doctors. The Doctor turned and looked at them. They just stood there with perplexed looks on their faces. It looked as if they were trying to figure something out.
‘What?’ The Ninth asked. He waited. What is-‘ Then he realized. His shoulders sank as he let out a sigh and rolled his eyes. ‘Oh for heavens sake! Every planet has a north!’ He emphasized. And marched in the TARDIS. ‘Rose!’ He called.
Rose stood there, raised her shoulders and nodded her head and awkwardly spoke as she entered the TARDIS. ‘He’s right you know.’
The doors closed and the TARDIS dematerialized. The Doctors stood there when the Fourth piped up. ‘So that’s the latest model…’
‘Don’t much care for it.’ The second one said.
‘Hm.’ The Sixth agreed. ’No sense of fashion either.’ All the others looked at the sixth. ‘What?’
They decided that some things were better left unsaid and each went to their TARDIS. The sixth shrugged his shoulders and did the same. The groaning wheezing sounded multiple times. The Doctors went back to their own times and hoped the future was in good hands with the latest model…
