Well, again another interesting story. I feel that need to get back to basics and this was pretty close. I wanted to know why the Family was chasing him. What happened before? But ok I can get past that. Now I;m not putting down the eps, but I am an a veteran Whovian. I' was around when they first aired it in the states. I just don't want the essence of what Dr who is about to be lost. Ok enough rambling. If this watch was the Doctor then why didn't Martha keep it? See the ep was good but it had it's flaws. The Family was creepy. They were well done. And the fact that they were after the Doctor, that they could smell a time lord... They made an army of scare crows which were also creepy. The Doctor's darker side bears looking into though. He trapped them into the immortality they wanted. David is a wonderful Doctor and I don't want him to fall victim to weak story lines as Sylvester's Doctor did. It wasn't weak stories as much as he knew as much as they were rushed stories. We didn't have the fun of learning what was going on first. I felt the 7th Doc got shorted on the story end of it. Now, I'm hoping that we will see some classic stuff next ep. Esp now that Captain Jack is back...

I watched this episode yesterday thanks to the tv-links.co.uk site. It has helped me catch up with the new series. I was never able to catch it when it aired and I wanted to give it a chance. I've got to say this has been the best story for Series 3 so far.
The timepiece - Possibly thinking it was safer being near the Doctor. Martha WAS a servant, so maybe her having a timepiece would have been questionable?
The Family hunting the Doctor - Could it have been they required a life and how long the lifespan of a Timelord is possibly drove them to capture him? Or maybe they wanted his knowledge.
I think what made this episode for me was the struggle of him not wanting to go back to being the Doctor. He was John Smith, had a "life" he liked though for a short time, was getting close to someone and it was going to be taken away. That had great dialog and was a very good scene. I also liked the references in the book he wrote. Did everyone try to name the doctors that were on that page? My guess was Pertwee at the very top left (you could only see the bottom of it, but I caught what looked like a coat collar that seemed like one he would wear. Middle Row: McCoy, McGann, and I'm pretty sure that was Hartnell. Bottom Row: Tom Baker, Davison, ??

Sorry it took so long to get back. A lot of people had a problem with the Family of blood segment. It wasn't bad but it could have been better. It was the little things like why didn't Martha keep the watch on her? Plot device.I'm going to report on Sarah Jane Adventures...
